The Labor of Love
(1992 - Positive Music Records)
CD: $9.95
With The Labor of Love, guitarist and composer Ken Navarro has delivered a superb contemporary jazz album of bold dimension and depth. Featuring Ken's consummate acoustic and electric guitar work, the album is a showcase for Ken's remarkable ability to compose strong, memorable melodies in a variey of contemporary musical contexts. Having performed and recorded with artists as diverse as Dave Koz, Gregg Karukas, John Patitucci, Nell Carter, and Doc Severinsen, Ken recorded his first album for Positive Music, The River Flows, which promptly marked him as an important new guitarist to watch. Ken's excellent second album After Dark went to #10 on the national radio charts and firmly established him as one of NAC's core artists. With its exciting ensemble performances and first rate sonics and production, The Labor of Love is a giant step forward for Ken.
